This page uses the same session as the admin panel. Open the admin panel, sign in, then come back here.

Settings

Every notification setting lives here. The composer keeps its own controls (title, type, destination, audience). Saving requires a super-admin account; everyone else can read this page.

1 · Sending

…

The kill switch stops every notification send on this server immediately. Scheduled campaigns wait; nothing is lost.

2 · Daily limits

How many notifications one person may receive per day. 0 means no limit. A change applies to sends from now on.

Limits count accepted push deliveries for that person and local day. Inbox and banner deliveries do not count.

The Personalised suggestions limit also caps the times in Personalised notifications below — you cannot add more times than that limit.

3 · Personalised notifications

…

A few article notifications a day, each greeted by the reader's own name. The article comes from the recommender; the text is rendered here, on the server, so the same message works on Android and iOS. The phone needs no app update.

Each time sends one personalised article. It always uses the Personalised suggestions daily limit above.

Times ≤ the personalised limit

Off by default. While it is off, no batch is ever built.

Times (1 to 10). Each is a wall-clock time.

The message is always an article chosen for that reader, using the Personalised suggestions daily limit. It is not a general announcement.

Live preview

This uses the values currently on the form — saved or not. Change the layout, greeting, name form or fallback word and it updates without saving.

Preview as a real account

Shows the article this person would actually receive right now, chosen by the same rules the batch uses. Nothing is saved.

Test run

Builds one batch now and sends it only to the accounts on the test list. It writes no history, so the same article can be chosen again. This can reach a real phone.

4 · Defaults for new accounts

“New” means an account with no stored notification settings yet — usually the first time it signs in, registers a device or opens notification settings. It is not based on when the account was created. These values are copied into its settings at that moment. Any account that already has notification settings keeps them — changing these values never alters an existing account.

5 · Test mode and the server

…

Test mode sends only to these accounts, plus the server's own test list. One entry per line: an email address, a username, or a numeric user id. Changes apply to the next test send, and every change is audited. Super-admin only.

Read-only on purpose: the environment, the server's own test list and the push transport. A page cannot change them.
